PRODUCTS: GDS Industrial Bi-Folding Doors.

PROJECT: The Life Flight Trust Hangar, Wellington

LOCATION: Wellington Airport

DETAILS:
Glideaway were contracted to supply and install two Industrial bi-folding overhead doors for The Life Flight Trust Hangars.

Two door sizes: 
Larger being 6.00m High x 18.90m Wide (Fixed Wing Hangar)
Smaller door being 6.00m High x 14.30m Wide (Helicopter Hangar) 

The first door being the larger door was installed in 2015 in to the hangar for the fixed wing aircraft to provide security and protection for the aircraft as prior this hangar had been left open to the elements

The second door being the smaller door was installed in 2019 into the helicopter hangar to replace an existing bi-folding door which had failed due to the harsh conditions of the environment in which the hangars are located.

The environment in which these doors operate is located on the west side of the Wellington Airport Runway, within close proximity to the Ocean.
This meaning the two doors had to be built to endure the severe wellington winds and sea salt air.

The Fixed wing hangar door was built to incorporate a hinged emergency egress door for personnel access in and out of the hangar.
